Tel Aviv: One of Eight Cities that Could Rival Silicon Valley

Tel Aviv grabs the third place in news.co.mau's rank of eight cities that could give silicon valley a good fight. The first places are taken by Singapore and Sidney.

The Tel Aviv choise is reasoned:

"Israel is a baby by global standards; 65 years old and with a population of around 8 million, they are only a drop in the worldwide pool, but somehow they enjoy the highest density of tech start-ups on the planet. Second only to Silicon Valley, Silicon Wadi Hebrew for valley) has subsidiaries from every major tech company today, including Intel, Microsoft and Google. However, Tel Aviv’s current software scene is far from the suburban business parks that typified Israel’s earlier round of successes. Today’s hottest companies are primarily involved in consumer web services instead of the data telecommunications, semiconductors or software security of the '90s boom".
