Credithood is the winner of the 2015 IATI & MasterCard Israel Technology Innovation AwardDec. 2, 2015
MasterCard, in cooperation with the Israel Advanced Technology Industries (IATI), announced the winner of the 2015 "MasterCard Israel Technology Innovation Award": Credithood.
Founded last year, by Maya Komerov (CEO) and Jack Elad (Chairman), Credithood developed a solution to deliver loans to small businesses with customers lending the money. Credithood helps companies launch crowdfunding campaigns that leverage loyal customers and offer rewards based on the amount raised.
Credithood will receive $25,000 cash prize. In addition, they will have a chance to participate in the fourth round of Citi's Tel-Aviv Accelerator program and will also receive a one year free IATI membership, where it can benefit from the organization's vast assets in the Israeli and worldwide tech industry, as well as gain access to R&D, marketing, financial service providers, the world’s top tier venture capital funds as well as other investors.
Also, for the first time, the winner of the MasterCard Israel Technology award will have a chance to participate in the next round of the MasterCard Start Path start up program.
The competition, in its fourth year, was open to Israeli companies that are in the early stages of developing technologies in financial services and electronic payment products or solutions for electronic and mobile commerce. Fifty-three startups applied in this year's competition, 20% more than last year. The ten finalists that were chosen to present their products at the finals event were selected based on their technological viability, business model, team experience and merits, target market and competitive differentiation.
The panel of judges included: Eran Barkat, Partner, BRM Group; Baat Enosh, Staff Program Manager, Intuit; Andras Hemberger, Israel Country Manager MasterCard; Itzik Frid, CEO and Managing Partner, Takwin Labs; Achiya Fried, Vp Business Sector, ICC; Ruth Polachek, Head of Citi Accelerator and External Innovation, Citi; Ohad Maimon, EVP Business Development & Strategy, LeumiCard; Karin Mayer Rubinstein, CEO, IATI; Roy Minkov, Head of E-Commerce & Digital Acquiring, Isracard; Yossi Moldawsky, Chairman, Plus Ventures.
Andras Hemberger, MasterCard Israel Country Manager, said: "This years competition has been by far the most succesfull with the amount of companies and their impressive technologies, again proving that Israeli innovation is amazing. The winners of the previous competitions, PriceSense, CallVU, and KitLocate, are making immense strides in the business sector and have formed strong relationships also with MasterCard”.
