eBay, Israel Post join forces to boost online sellingAug. 2, 2016
If the Israeli postal service is known for anything, it’s not its innovative or service- oriented ways. That may be changing.
On Wednesday, the national mail delivery service and eBay announced a cooperation agreement, which will help Israeli sellers easily print labels and send packages abroad.
Then, for no extra charge, a courier will come and collect the package from the seller’s home or office, cutting out the long post office lines and inconvenient opening hours.
The new platform, which was jointly developed by the two companies, will be presented in Tel Aviv on Thursday, at the Go eCommerce convention for online sellers.
For eBay, the partnership has obvious benefits; it makes it easier for Israelis to sell their products on their site. Israelis already sell products on average every 5 seconds on the site, with the most popular destinations being the United States, Canada, Germany, France and Australia.
