HTIA conference: “High tech, innovation and brain”Sep. 13, 2012
At the HTIA annual conference in Jerusalem today. What a buzz ! I know that to many people this would seem “yet another local” high tech conference around the world. Fine. But wrong.
Yes it has a predominant local participation but it is very much globally focussed. I have participated in other similar conferences in places like London, Paris, Silicon Valley and this conference is as globally minded as any. It is also interesting also to sense the strength of the bidirectional collaboration between the Israel and US high tech communities. How enriching!
Israel has progressively become a world hub for innovation.
It is not only a country with very skilled workforce and talent, but also progressively built a supportive and nurturing ecosystem made of entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, multinationals looking to start new business or acquire young companies in Israel… And of course the “social conscience” of innovation and high tech being one of the most important engines for Israel’s future. This is a constant as highlighted by an inspiring President Simon Peres today at the HTIA Keynote: “high tech, innovation and brain”.
