Focus: Smart Transportation.
Description: The Transportation Innovation Institute at Tel Aviv University, in collaboration with the Fuel Choices Initiative and the EcoMotion Community for Smart Transportation in Israel, has established the Accelerator for projects in fields of smart transportation.
Administered by the EcoMotion staff, the Accelerator is located in the Porter Building, home to the School of Environmental Studies, Tel Aviv University.
Projects accepted into the program gain exposure to a variety of experts, companies and investors, mentors and leaders in the transportation industry. They also receive funding to develop their product, professional services and work space, facilitating the creation of new partnerships
The program will accept at least five projects per cycle with selection focused on entrepreneurship that meets the following criteria:
- Potential impact on both domestic and global levels.
- Up to 500,000 NIS of funding.
- Potential to raise funds.
- Commitment of at least one of the project entrepreneurs to spend all of his/her time in the program.
The work will be focused on three main areas: Product development; Formulation of a business model and operation; Securing sources of financing for further development.
Each project accepted into the program will receive 100,000 NIS for its activity. Participants in the Accelerator program will not be charged any fees or percentage from future project earnings. The funds may be used to purchase equipment, services, travel to conferences and meetings, marketing expenses and site construction. The funds are not to be used to cover payroll expenses.
